SBTV Partners With #Knifefree To Decrease Knife Crime

SBTV have created episodes featuring artists, aspiring actors, locals and others from areas around England in the attempt to further the #knifefree campaign which aims to decrease knife crime.

According to the #knifefree campaign, 99 percent of young people in England and Wales are living knife free, but there is still knife crime disrupting the lives of youth. These episodes showcase true stories of the impacts of knife crime and how to avoid getting involved in it.

The #knifefree campaign lists legal risks of carrying a knife including:

1. Carrying a knife can mean four years in prison, even if you don’t use it.
2. You can get a criminal record just for carrying a knife.
3. Carrying an offensive weapon, like a knife, is a serious offence and carrying it for self-protection is not a defence.

The episodes created by SBTV available highlight how peer pressure, status and revenge are just a few things that contribute knife crime.
