
Delivering Afrobeat soul and free-spirited vibes throughout his music, Adekunle Gold is an artist that is carving his own path in the music world. Getting his start with the track ‘Sade’, the emerging artist caught the attention of popular artist Olamide, soon joining the YBNL music imprint. Since then the singer-songwriter has released numerous tracks including two albums, with his debut Gold reaching number 7 on the Billboard World Albums Chart.

How would you describe your track Kelegbe Megbe (Know your level)? How did the track come to be?
Its a vibey Afrobeat song with elements of pop in it. it was inspired by the thought of running your own race and doing things at your own pace, not comparing yourself to anyone!
The video for the record is stunning. What was the inspiration for the visual?
Thank you very much. I knew I wanted it to be very Nigerian in terms of fashion and the styling. I also wanted it to feel somewhat like an art film? Like if you paused in any section, it could be a photograph.
You’ve released two albums thus far, are you currently working on a new project?
Yes Yes! I am. It’s coming out in October 2019
Will you be collaborating with any artist’s
Yes, but you will have to wait to see who or them lol!

Describe your personal style in 5 words or less
Afro modern gaudy sexy comfort.
How do you incorporate your fashion sense within your music?
My music is alive, only a little bit of it is made without real instruments. It’s alive with the soul of the artists who play those instruments.
The same for my fashion, my outburst rarely have duplicates, carries my intention and the soul of the designer.
Name your top five goals you want to accomplish as an artist?
1.Happy life for my family, this is the greatest award and reward for my labour
2. As I love to explore the bounds of my creativity, I would love to be no 13 on the EGOT list.
3. I want to create a sound that defines my generation and my time.
4. I want be in a Disney movie
5. A world tour similar to MJ’s History tour (83 countries)
What do you want your fans to take away after listening to your music?
I want my music to be a salve, a re-invigoration, a revival, a transformation of mind and thoughts. If I accomplish any of those, I have done my work
