My Chemical Romance Announces UK Show

My Chemical Romance are back, and they’re playing their first show in the UK in nine years this summer. The announcement came after cryptic posts to the band’s social media sites throughout the month of January, and was formally announced via their Youtube channel in a video titled ‘An Offering…’.

According to the two-and-a-half-minute video – which features hooded figures in skull masks, foggy forests, and a pentagram with a knife in the middle to boot – My Chemical Romance will be playing Stadium MK in Milton Keynes on June 20th. Rumors of a UK show have been circulating since the start of January, when the same hooded figure appeared on the band’s Instagram page with a Union Jack as the caption. Soon after, videos began to follow in which symbols flashed at the screen: fans identified some to be letters from the Theban alphabet that spelled out “June”.

This will be the first time the band has hit the stage in the UK since they headlined the 2011 Leeds Festival. Tickets go on sale on Friday, January 24th, at 9:30 am. Die-hard fans on the band shouldn’t wait too long on this one: their Los Angeles reunion show sold out in 3 minutes flat.
