Spindle Home Session: Jesse Jo Stark Covers John Prine’s ‘Angel From Montgomery’

LA-based artist Jesse Jo Stark is a rising talent unlike any other. With an eerie style and noir-like sound, the singer-songwriter has created her own lane in the pop genre. Since her debut 12 years ago at the age of 17, Jesse has worked with an array of music acts – including Guns N Roses – completed a one-month residency in LA and released an array of music including her captivating EP ‘Dandelion’.

Jesse Jo and her guitarist Thomas Hunter were able to record a Spindle Home Session, performing an acoustic version of her newly released cover ‘Angel From Montgomery’ – which was notably sung by John Prine. Speaking on the importance of the song and what it means to her, the songstress states, “I could never have imagined that when I released my version of this song that Mr. Prine would no longer be with us. I’ve been performing this song half my life – no matter where I am in the world, it always makes me feel at home. It’s an honor to sing it and pay homage to him. I think we could all use some angels right now.”
