Budding pop-sensation Lulu Simon is back with new track ‘Strangers.’ The sparkling 80’s synth bop outlines the aftermath of the overused and (frankly) irritating phrase “Let’s just be friends.” The single begs the question “Why would I ever want to be friends with you after all you put me through?” – encouraging each listener to stand up for themselves and know their worth. In short, they don’t deserve you, babe!
Sam DeRosa – 321
Sam DeRosa delivers yet again with new single ‘321.’ This post-breakup banger describes a night known all too well. The drinks are flowing, the music is blasting, the night is young – but your suppressed emotions decide to pop in for a little surprise. Suddenly you find yourself crying on a random bathroom floor. Did you make a mistake? Do you want him back? Or is this just the alcohol talking?
We the Commas – Pissed Off
No matter your age, we’ve all gone through periods in life where we’ve been overwhelmed with frustration – unsure of where to go or how to express our emotions. Some may need a good scream, others an exhilarating workout class, maybe the shedding of a few tears. We the Commas, on the other hand, needed a pen and paper – channeling those emotions into their newest track, the anthem for the angsty that is ‘Pissed Off.’
Ronnie Watts – Sad Summer
Alt-pop singer-songwriter Ronnie Watts has definitely made the most of her ‘Sad Summer.’ This breakup bop delves into the bittersweet timeline of a past love, reliving the highs and lows of a summer-fling that what once was. Complete with her raw and soothing vocals, this newcomer’s nostalgic track has us hyped for her upcoming EP I DON’T TRUST U AT ALL. We can’t wait to see what else she has up her sleeve.
Blood Orange ft. 박혜진 Park Hye Jin — Call Me (Freestyle)
Blood Orange and 박혜진 Park Hye Jin deliver a calming new record with ‘Call Me (Freestyle)’. The new track is backed by lo-fi production that will have you daydreaming all day long.
Sam Smith — Diamonds
Sam Smith throws away the material things and yearns for an honest and loving relationship on their new track ‘Diamonds’. The upbeat record showcases Smith singing about a failed relationship and the need for real substance not “diamonds”. It’s a fantastic single that will have you dancing all night long.
Wizkid — No Stress
‘No Stress’ is a record that spreads good vibes. In true Wizkid fashion, the new track is filled with infectious beats and an Afropop/RnB sound. ‘No Stress’ is the perfect track for that socially distanced weekend hangout.
YUNGBLUD — god save me, but don’t drown me out
Music’s resident pop-punk mastermind YUNGBLUD is back with a new single and big album announcement. His latest track ‘god save me, but don’t drown me out’ is a song with a wholesome message about overcoming pressures and perseverance. To top off his new release the London talent also announced he’ll be dropping his sophomore album ‘Weird!’ in November.
Black Coffee ft. Celeste — Ready For You
Celeste and Black Coffee team up on their a passionate new song ‘Ready For You’. The single is filled with intense lyrics that will leave you feeling inspired and loved. Celeste’s vocals are unmatched on the track and matches perfectly with Black Coffee’s production.
Alicia Keys ft. Tierra Whack — Me x 7
Alicia Keys and Tierra Whack are a combo we never knew we needed. The simplistic production elevates Keys and Whacks overall musicality and vocal talents. If you’re in need of a self-love track to keep you centred and grounded then ‘Me x 7’ is for you.
Joy Oladokum — if you got a problem
Joy Oladokun is giving us inspirational lyrics on her track ‘if you got a problem’. The new single will fill you with hope and is backed by the sweet sounds of guitar, bass and drums. We have to stan Joy Oladokun.
slowthai, James Blake, Mount Kimbie — feel away
slowthai is back and better than ever on his new single ‘feel away’. The record also features the talented James Blake and Mount Kimbie. Speaking on the track the Northampton rapper states: “This song is about the doubts we have whether it be within friendships, your partner or with our family. It’s about putting yourself in the other person’s shoes so you have a better understanding of the situation.”
The Hunna – Young and Faded
The Hunna have dropped their brand new track ‘Young & Faded’ from their highly anticipated album ‘I’d Rather Die Than Let You In’. The track is a high energy experience, filled with resonant guitar riffs, hypnotic vocals and angst galore. Speaking on the inspiration for the track the band states “This song is about the youth today and the perception and outlook that the older generations have. The song is also about and more importantly is from the view of the youth, how they feel cast out by so many due to misunderstanding or not wanting to understand.
Pixey – Just Move
Emerging talent Pixey has dropped her fantastic new single ‘Just Move’ and we are obsessed. The Liverpool based artist produced, wrote and recorded the track all from the comforts of her bedroom. Backed by a 90’s style sound, the track is an “ironic” dance tune that will have you up and moving. We can’t wait to see what else Pixey has up her sleeve in the coming future.
Isaac Waddington – Ordinary Days
Isaac Waddington is getting emotional on his new single ‘Ordinary Days’. The track is filled with jazzy/RnB sounds and calming vocals from Waddington. If you’re loving ‘Ordinary Days’ then listen to his ‘Dirty Mile’ EP for more amazing tracks.
Brent Faiyaz — Dead Man Walking
Brent Faiyaz has done it again with his new single ‘Dead Man Walking’. The record is backed by hypnotic sounds and introspective lyrics that are absolutely addicting. We’re gonna need Brent to just release a new album already!
FLOHIO — Unveiled
FLOHIO is killing it on their new track ‘Unveiled’. The emerging British talent shines throughout the record, showcasing a sick flow and clever bars and wordplay. If you haven’t checked out FLOHIO catalogue just yet please take a break and have a listen.
Kelli-Leigh – Can’t Get Enough
South London’s Kelli-Leigh unveils “Can’t Get Enough”, the title track from her upcoming solo EP. Glistening with pop radiance, “Can’t Get Enough” embarks on a euphoric journey into the early stages of a blossoming relationship. Kelli-Leigh explains. “Lyrically, the project follows a relationship from the early days, the build up of sexual tension and ultimately the ending. These are the songs that most represent me as an artist and the sound I have been developing.” The latest release serves as testament to Kelli-Leigh’s vibrant uphill journey and marks the star as a phenomenal creative talent. Her new EP is out today.
Pearl Charles – What I Need
One of the US’ finest rising stars, Pearl Charles, has announced her stunning new album, ‘Magic Mirror’, will be released in 2021. Pearl has also shared her entrancing new single, ‘What I Need’, which was released this week. Speaking of the track Pearl said, “’What I Need’ explores this choice in terms of a breakup, though it could really be applied to any situation that is no longer serving you. It’s the age-old story of wanting to stay in a comfortable relationship but knowing that you have to move on for personal growth, and the fear and uncertainty that being alone will bring, even though it’s for the best.”
Melanie C ft. Nadia Rose – Fearless
Sporty’s back with another incredible slice of soulful, defiant pop on new single ‘Fearless’. The track is a collaboration with UK’s Nadia Rose, and it’s the fourth single to be lifted from Melanie’s self-titled studio album that drops on October 2nd.
Jannine Weigel – Passcode
Newcomer Jannine Weigel is fresh breed of pop star and ‘Passcode’ is the first release for innovative new record label RedRecords. Produced by the Grammy-nominated record producer Tommy Brown, renowned for his work with Ariana Grande, Blackpink and more, ‘Passcode’ is a euphoric dance-pop anthem. It was co-written by Canadian singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez (Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris) and it’s a song equipped with the sort of irresistible chorus that’s bound to get stuck in your head.
Elderbrook – Back To My Bed
ELDERBROOK is getting us in our feels with his track ‘Back To My Bed’. The new record is filled with electronic sounds and heartfelt lyrics. On top of releasing his new single, ELDERBROOK also dropped his highly anticipated debut album ‘Why Do We Shake In The Cold?’. Listen the track below and album here.
