Meet The Genre-Bending Talent… Cole LC

If you’re looking for an artist that delivers gritty bars and melodic flows then Cole LC is for you. Having fallen in love with music at an early age, the young talent has been steadily creating his own unique and dynamic lane in the industry. Citing artists like Mike Skinner, Mahalia, Lil Baby and Ed Sheeran, Cole LC has crafted a unique sound that effortlessly blends the R&B, alt-pop and rap realms.

Fast forward to 2021 and the emerging talent is ready to showcase his evolving artistry in the form of his debut mixtape ‘Outside Looking In’. The record features his previously released singles ‘Busy Tone’, ‘Westbrook’ and ‘Outside Looking In‘. With impressive vocals, fiery rap delivery and a growing fan base, Cole LC is gearing up for a music sphere.

We were able to chat with the rising talent about everything from his favourite collaborations, career goals and dream features. Check out the full interview below.

If you had a superpower what would it be and why?

If I had a superpower it would be invisibility so I could walk past people I don’t want to see in peace and get into any venue for free, Basically just be antisocial when I want to be but still go about my business.

What has been your favourite quarantine snack?

My favourite quarantine snack is definitely chocolate mini Weetabix. They cannot be beaten. Top tier.

What has been your favourite collaboration so far?

My favourite collab so far has been working with Adz on Westbrook, it’s one of my favourite tunes I’ve released, and I’ve been wanting to work with him since he went viral a bit ago, I’ve been following him for a second so it has made sense for us to put something together. It also made me realise my own progression as he was someone I was listening to before we got in the booth! 

Which artist would be a dream feature? 

My dream feature is either Billie Eilish or Lil Baby, they’re my top 2 artists of all time, both levels ahead of everyone in my opinion and I think we could make a banger 

What country were you surprised to find out you had fans in?

A country I was surprised I had supporters in America I’ve had a few messages from people in the states and it doesn’t feel real that people are taking me in so far away but messages like that make it all worthwhile! 

What’s your favourite lyric in your hit single Grip & Slide?

My favourite lyric in grip n slide is “I did it on my own that’s why this is all I know” I feel as though when you start progressing and things fall in place people like to take credit for your winnings but I know and the people around me know it was my graft and work rate that made me what I am today and that won’t change I’m still doing it like I have been and it’s all I know!

One thing you want to achieve by the end of 2021?

One thing I want to achieve in 2021 is to perform at a festival that’s been my dream since a young kid and it’s in reaching distance so I’m going to be putting my all in towards festival season to make it happen.
