Spindle Selects: Tracks Of The Week

It’s that time of the week again and we have a new Spindle Selects Playlist for your weekend plans including releases from Isaac Dunbar, Mahalia, Troye Sivan and more.

Isaac Dunbar – Bleach 

Isaac Dunbar has returned with his brand new single ‘Bleach’ and we can’t get enough. Backed by a retro-styled production, the track delivers wanderlust lyrics about relationships and self-expression. 

Cassyette – Mayhem 

Cassyette returns with her brand new explosive single ‘Mayhem’. Featuring her signature pop-punk vocals, the rising talent opens up about a failed relationship. Speaking on the track, she states: Over the last year I’ve learnt that nothing good lasts forever and sometimes you have to let things go. I loved him, and he loved me, but after going through so much, it changed things between us and we had too many problems beyond repair.

Mahalia – Letter To Your Ex

Mahalia gives advice to her partner’s former lover in her new single ‘Letter To Ur Ex’. The R&B record is the singer’s first release since her acoustic release of ‘Roadside’. While the track is short and sweet, it gives Mahalia fans a taste of what’s to come. 

Troye Sivan ft. Jay Som – Trouble 

Troye Sivan and Jay Som deliver the perfect spring track with ‘Trouble’. Laced with a sun-kissed production, the two talents effortlessly meld their unique styles together alongside dreamy lyrics about love. We simply can’t get enough. 

Mimi Webb – House On Fire 

UK pop singer and songwriter Mimi Webb enters her new music era with her single ‘House On Fire’. The dynamic record is backed by an upbeat production that illuminates the singer’s impressive vocals and honest lyrics. 

Call Me Loop – Painkill 

We can’t believe we’re saying this either but the UK’s Call Me Loop has only gone and released a ballad! The beautiful track ‘Painkiller’ is the first time Loops’ vocal has had a real moment to itself like this, and the vulnerability in her voice and the lyrics are breathtaking.

Eddie Benjamin – Weatherman 

Australian prodigy Eddie Benjamin drops sensational new single ‘Weatherman’ and we can’t get enough. The R&B pop record is full of vibrant lyrics that will leave listeners floating through the crowd. We can’t wait to hear more from the 20-year-old rising talent.

Rex Orange County – AMAZING 

Rex Orange County shares his latest single, ‘AMAZING’, from his upcoming album WHO CARES?. The track highlights the beauty of falling in love alongside romantic orchestral strings. ‘AMAZING’ is the perfect track for hopeless romantics. 

SEB – f**k it, i’m the man 

LA-based artist SEB sings about independence on his new track ‘fuck it, im the man’. The track is the young talent’s first release since his dynamic 2021 single ‘god of the sunsets’. Speaking on the track SEB, states: “This song is about standing on your own and living your life according to you and only you. I want fans who are living through that, to feel empowered to do them, regardless of what anybody has to say.”

Surya Sen – Bad Love 

North London’-based talent Surya Sen drops his attitude-packed single ‘Earn It’. The track features a sample from the iconic ESG’s track of the same title, “Earn It”. Surya delivers a contemporary take on a South Bronx funk classic with its high octane production and gritty flow. 

Daisy Brain – What Would You Do

London-based talent Daisy Brain drops angst track ‘What Would You Do’. The production is reminiscent of a 90s grunge track that will have listeners in their feelings. Speaking on the track, Daisy says:” What would you do?’ is really just me screaming for help to be honest, my mood can swing dramatically and I realise I deal with it in quite a negative way, but at the same time I’m not entirely sure how to change that. The song is asking the question to everyone else about how they deal with feeling this way.”

ELIO – Read The Room 

Emerging talent ELIO has shared her latest single, ‘Read The Room’. The Toronto-based artist showcases to be boundary-less creativity on the track with its dramatic vocal lines and crisp production. In a statement. On the track, ELIO reveals: “Read the Room is about one particular session with a producer who was a walking personification of main character syndrome (in all the worst ways). Sadly, this is seen in every industry and day to day life for a lot of women and LGBTQ+ people. We are told to be reserved, to behave, to fit into the mold of what society expects us to be – ‘Read the room’ is my way of owning that narrative.”

SIPHO – I DON’T GET IT 

The mesmerising SIPHO has returned with his brand new EP SHE MIGHT BLEED. The highly anticipated release examines hyper-masculinity within society and the domino effect it has on generations past and present. Stand out tracks include ‘I DON’T GET IT’ and ‘DEEP BREATHS’. 

Aeris Roves – Enough For Me

Aeris Roves continues his music take over with his brand new single ‘Enough For Me’. Having written the song in one day, Roves sings about relationship insecurities and partner reassurance. Speaking on the track, he explains: “A rare occurrence in that this song was finished in a day making it very forthright. It was written almost as encouragement to a self doubting partner, proclaiming that all they are is in fact enough.”
