It’s finally the weekend and we have a brand new Spindle Selects Playlist. This week we have an array of releases including Celeste, beabadoobee, Snøw and more.

Layke – Help Me Out

Alt-poptress Layke kicks off a new chapter of her music with “Help Me Out,” a chromatic track where she sheds light on mental health with unfiltered honesty and raw vulnerability. Through emotive lyricism, Layke captures the mental chaos of dealing with an anxiety attack while also discovering her own inner strength to power through it.

Snøw – Misbehave

Snøw offers another breezy track filled with melancholia with his new song “Misbehave.” It is the focus track of his debut album I Smoke To Cope, which is out now. With its buoyant riffs and broody lyrics, he channels the feeling of loneliness one experiences when he/she is dealing with a broken heart at a crowded party – which often makes the individual feel lonelier.

Tai Verdes 3 outfits

Tai Verdes continues his music take over with his brand new single ‘3 outfits’. The upbeat and playful new track is lifted straight from his forthcoming project. With the weather warming up, ‘3 outfits’ is the perfect song for that walk or picnic in the park.

Lykke Li  NO HOTEL

Lykke Li announces her brand new single ‘NO HOTEL’ and her immersive audiovisual album EYEYE. For the forthcoming record, the songstress teamed up with frequent collaborator Björn Yttling. ‘NO HOTEL’ is the perfect example of her expansive artistry and boundless talent.

Girlpool Nothing Gives Me Pleasure

The Los Angeles duo released their final single from their highly anticipated Yves Rothman-produced album Forgiveness. Throughout the track, the two creatives explore the topic of self-love alongside electro-pop production. Speaking on the record, Harmony Tividad says: “Nothing Gives Me Pleasure is about trying to love yourself when it feels like no one else will. It was written during a time when I was working so hard to get someone specific to love and recognize me. On the path to doing that, I diluted myself so much that I lost sight of my own needs.

Eli Smart – AM to PM

Rising star and pioneer of “Aloha Soul” Eli Smart shares his latest single ‘AM to PM’. Inspired by the “lethargic spell” of hot summer days, the single transports listeners into dreamy bliss. The single is backed by infectious harmonies that blend effortlessly with a calming production. “This tune is about cruising around Kauai from sunrise until the early hours of the next morning. Sometimes it gets so hot here that it feels like the sun is casting a lethargic spell upon everything and the only cure is jumping in the water or waiting until sun goes down,” Smart said when describing the track.

Mwanjé – Call 2 The Diaspora

After the release of her debut track ‘Wildones’ feat. Sampa The Great, emerging star Mwanjé returns with her immersive new single ‘Call 2 The Diaspora’. The meditative track is full of the singer’s smooth vocals, which are paired with nocturnal jazz instrumentation. Speaking about the song, Mwanjé said, “‘Call 2 The Diaspora’ is about enlightenment and branches of the same tree. After discovering and nurturing magic within myself, I begin to recognise it in others. Self-love overflows, and I intend to spread it to those around me and my communities.”

Priestigate By The Door

Yorkshire five-piece Priestgate has dropped their brand new track ‘By The Door’ alongside an immersive live video. The infectious single channels an 80s like sound that will leave music listeners dancing all day long. According to vocalist Rob Schofield, the track is meant to question things that don’t necessarily have or need answers.

YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB – Popstar

London-based singer YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB showcases her evolution and versatility as an artist on her new single ‘Popstar’. Before its release on streaming services, the single was originally meant to be a SoundCloud exclusive. Even though the track has lighthearted lyrics, the songstress says the track is meant to be a “hedonistic vent” that idealises the lives of 2000 pop stars. We can’t get enough of YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB latest single.

Aby Coulibaly – On My Ones

Aby Coulibaly releases brilliant new single ‘On My Ones’ and it’s everything we could have wanted. The Dublin-based rising star along with her collective Chamomile evokes such a fun and calming vibe within the record. If you’re looking for a song to help with self-love and prosperity then ‘On My Ones’ is the track for you.

Dehd – Stars

Chicago trio Dehd has made their return with their instantly infectious, doo-wop single ‘Stars’. Backed by an upbeat production, the single delivers emotionally complex subject matter that will leave music listeners in their feelings. Speaking on the track guitarist Jason Balla says: “When I get too overwhelmed and I feel like my heart’s gonna break from all the sadness in this world I go for a walk. The familiar streets of home pull me back to earth.”

Beabadoobee Talk

Indie rock superstar beabadoobee has returned with her brand-new single and video ‘Talk’ alongside the announcement of her upcoming sophomore studio album Beatopia. The angst-filled record is full of emotive lyrics and rich vocals from the rising star. When it comes to the inspiration behind the track, beabadoobee revealed that it was originally for her first album. “Generally, it’s about doing things that aren’t necessarily healthy or great for you, but you can’t help indulging. It’s like that unavoidable feeling that you get. You can’t get rid of it, and you know it’s bad, but you love it really, and its whatever, so you do it anyways,” she explains.

SeoriCan’t Stop This Party

Seori drops the hypnotizing, moody pop and R&B track ‘Can’t Stop This Party.’ The song starts out with the singer’s gentle vocals over a piano intro. As the record progresses, it effortlessly blends into a melancholy, lo-fi beat. With lyrics that describe a never-ending party, music listeners will have no choice but to vibe the refreshing track.

King Princess For My Friends

King Princess continues her new music era with her latest single ‘For My Friends’ alongside an emotive video. The track is also taken from her forthcoming sophomore album ‘Hold On Baby’, which is due out later this year. In a statement, the singer revealed that the single is about her two best friends from high school. “These girls have been through the pits with me, and the more time I spend with them as an adult, the more I’m reminded that they are my home. So thank you my angel horse queens for sticking with me. I love you all and I can’t wait to give you this song,” King Princess says.

Celeste – To Love A Man

Celeste is back with her heartwrenching track ‘To Love A Man’ and we can’t get enough. From beginning to end, the songstress shines in front a piano-led production. The lyrics are also extremely emotive and perfectly showcase Celeste’s undeniable talent. We simply cannot get enough.
