It’s that time of the week again and we have a brand new Spindle Selects playlist featuring new releases from Tate McRae, Shygirl, Benicio Bryant and more.

Matt B captures the longing and heartbreak that comes with unrequited love in his new release ‘Losing You.’ It’s an alternative R&B piece where the cinematic riffs and Matt’s smooth yet sharp vocals channel the emotional intensity that comes with searching for a lost lover. 

Tate McRaewhat would you do?

Multi-platinum selling artist Tate McRae shares a new her new single ‘what would you do?’ from her forthcoming debut album, ‘i used to think i could fly’. The angsty record, which was co-written by Tate, Blake Slatkin, Alexander Glantz, and Charlie Puth, is backed by a pop-punk sound and honest lyrics about miscommunication in a relationship.

Avelino – Mercedes Coupe

Avelino has dropped his new track ‘Mercedes Coupe’ and we can’t get enough. The track, which was also released with his accompanying record ‘Magick’ effortlessly showcases his signature style from beginning to end. When discussing the inspiration for the single, Avelino states: “‘Mercedes Coupe’ & ‘Magick’ are about the finer things in life. I celebrate & reflect equally. The fact that any person can go from the gutter to glory if they put their mind to it, is as true as the fact that grass is green. These songs will either help you reflect on life, or motivate you for the future, maybe even both.”

Pale Waves – Lies

Pale Waves fans rejoice! The band has finally returned with their brand new single ‘Lies’. Set to the sounds of “crunchy guitars and rhythmic drive of 2000s pop-punk” the track explores the aftermath of a breakup and the messy emotions that come along with it. “‘Lies’ is about someone who built up my trust and destroyed it like a wrecking ball,” says frontwoman Heather Baron-Gracie. “it caused some real trust issues, but fortunately for me that person is no longer in my life. Once you do me wrong you’re gone!

RJ Thompson – Your Money or Your Life

Geordie singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist RJ Thompson has returned with this sunny new single. ‘Your Money Or Your Life’ is a slice of euphoric pop mastery, which explores important and relatable themes over an upbeat synth. 

Benicio Bryant – WHO HURT YOU? – Stripped

17-year-old singer-songwriter Benicio Bryant has released the stripped-down version of his latest single ‘WHO HURT YOU?.’ In the reimagined track, the emerging talent sings his beloved melody over a warm piano tone that will warm the heart. When asked about the track’s emotive nature, Benicio states: “‘WHO HURT YOU?’ is super special to me because it can be about whatever you want it to be! Wherever you are in life and the problems you’re facing are valid and different for everyone, but I want us to come together and celebrate that we are all human and get through things together!”

Mysiegin + juice

South-East London talent Mysie has shared her brand new track ‘gin + juice’ and it’s taking us back to the 90s. Throughout the record, the singer encompasses a smooth disposition with the track’s clever lyrics and genre-bending production. ShygirlFirefly

Shygirl is continuing her new music era with her latest experimental pop single ‘Firefly’. Described as a “glitchy and twinkling club-ready song”, the emerging songstress delivers clever lyrics alongside an infectious production. ‘Firefly’ is set to be featured on the singer’s upcoming album NYMPH.

Maneskin – SUPERMODEL

Måneskin are back and better than ever with their latest single ‘SUPERMODEL’. Backed by their signature sound, the band delivers unapologetic lyrics about the fast life of the entertainment industry. Recently the foursome hit the Eurovision Song Contest stage and performed an electric performance of the new single – which elevated the song to new heights.

Remi Wolf – Michael

Emerging singer-songwriter Remi Wolf has shared her brand new single ‘Michael,’ and we can’t get enough. The new track effortlessly kicks off her new music era by displaying a new gritty and emotional sound compared to her previous releases. Speaking about the song’s creative process track, Remi states: “I wrote “Michael” with my friends Aaron Maine (known as the artist, Porches) and Jack DeMeo. It was me and Aaron’s first time working together, and we had both just gotten back from a wild trip to Miami, so that energy carried over into the session. We wrote 3 songs that day but “Michael” really stood out to us. When I was writing the song, I was just free-styling and letting words fall out.
