If you’re on the lookout for an emerging soulful and dynamic artist, then Naomi Kimpenu needs to be on your radar. Since her debut in 2020 with her single ‘Only,’ the rising talent has steadily been on the rise within the music sphere. Back in August 2021, the East London native released her debut EP ‘Prelude’, which recently led her to take home the Rising Artist award at the 2022 Ivor Novello Awards. Written, recorded and produced by Naomi, the EP expertly showcases the young artist’s talent through its infectious melodies and stories of love and self-acceptance.
On September 30, the singer-songwriter added a new chapter to the ‘Prelude’ saga by releasing a live version of the project – which was recorded at the historic Abbey Road Studios. Speaking on the latest release, Naomi stated: “The making of this EP was such a transformative experience. Writing, producing and recording the project really showed me what I’m capable of.”

She added: “From winning the Ivor Novello Rising Star Award to recording my EP Live at Abbey Road Studios. It feels like the beginning of my legacy. It’s such an exciting time in my life. I’m signing my first-ever publishing deal with Sony Music, and it is such an incredible and surreal feeling having one of my lifelong dreams come true.”
