It’s that time of week! Spindle Selects is back and we have brand new releases, including, flowerovlove, Jax Jones, Baby Rose and more. Check out some of our Selects below.

flowerovlove – Love You

Rising talent flowerovlove is back with her brand new single ‘Love You’, and we can’t get enough. Backed by romantic lyrics and spellbinding vocals, the track is perfect for lovers getting ready to celebrate Valentine’s Day. 

Wasia Project – Petals On The Moon

Wasia Project has released their brand new single, ‘Petals On The Moon’, and it’s everything we could want and more. The duo – which is made up of Heartstopper’s Will Gao and Olivia Hardy – pair together a unique production with celestial lyricism that will leave music listeners floating through the clouds. 

Model/Actriz – Amaranth

Four-piece Model/Actriz are back with their latest single ‘Amaranth’ off their upcoming debut album Dogsbody. The ominous dance-punk track exudes a hypnotic dance-pop sound, which is elevated by trembling vocals. ‘Amaranth’ is a must-listen.

Kelela Enough For Love

Kelela has dropped her final single ‘Enough for Love’ off her forthcoming album RAVEN. Throughout the track, the songstress explores themes of love and “being tough enough” for it. Like her new record, the track also takes a stab at the different layers of vulnerability and surrendering to our feelings.

Ari AbdulBored

Ari Abdul has released her brand new single ‘Bored’ following her his debut track ‘BABYDOLL.’ Tapping into an alternative pop sound, the Brooklyn-based talent combines the reverb-heavy production with emotive lyrics to create a genre-bending and boundless track.

YEИDRY Hererra

Dominican-Italian singer-songwriter YEИDRY has returned to the music sphere with her new single ‘Herrera’ on Friday, February 10th. Following a breakout year in 2021, the young talent’s new song showcases her evolved artistry with its unique sound and YEИDRY infectious energy.

Mychelle – Hurts

Mychelle taps deep into her emotions on the new track ‘Hurts.’ Like the title suggests, the singer-songwriter sings about the heartbreaking and the challenges of moving on from a former lover. Produced alongside Hugo M. Hardy, the track exudes an indie, folk and alternative production. Speaking on the song’s creative process, Mychelle said: “This song came together during my first session with Hugo. I really enjoyed working with him as he was able to draw out the indie sounds that I like. Having played guitar and been a busker for years, I’ve always enjoyed mixing the guitar vibes of folk and indie music with soul and R&B”.

Azekel ft. Ivy Sole –  Just Expectationz

Azekel teams up with Ivy Sole on her brand new single ‘Just Expectationz,’ which is taken from his forthcoming mixtape ‘Analyze Love‘. Written and recorded on tour in 2019, the London-raised artist explores themes of sacrifice and realism in regards to love. Like his previous releases, Azekel’s new track features a fire production that features elements of soft rock. Speaking on the track, Azekel’s collaborator Ivy said: ”I started writing the moment I heard the song. Azekel’s pen and voice are so distinctly smooth, so I approached the song with some staccato, imagined some relationships past and let the production lead me. The result was a bit of transatlantic magic.” 

Jax Jones ft. Calum Scott Whistle

Jax Jones releases another banger with his Calum Scott-backed single ‘Whistle,’ and it needs to be on everyone’s radar. Filled with Jax’s iconic style, the new track evokes a nostalgic fun energy that will leave music listeners dancing all weekend long. “I’m very excited to be collaborating with Calum on Whistle. His vocals are outstanding and bring the song to life. 2023 is going to be a busy year for me and Whistle is the start of a long line of releases,” Jax said in a statement.

 Ayra Starr – Sability

Ayra Starr, is back and better than ever with her new solo single of the year, ‘Sability’. Following the release of ‘Rush’, the new track is full of the singer’s signature vocals and sound while also displaying her evolution as one of Africa’s most promising new music sensations.

Baby Rose ft Smino I Won’t Tell

Powerhouse singer-songwriter Baby Rose has announced her highly anticipated new album, ‘Through and Through,’ with her brand new single ‘I Won’t Tell’ ft. Smino. The dynamic new track effortlessly showcases her bold authenticity and her newfound sense of self. Along with Smino’s infectious bars, the new track exudes a dynamic disco sound that makes it a must-listen for R&B listeners. Speaking on the track, Baby said: ‘I Won’t Tell’ is a fun record that came out of a sleepless night in LA jamming with friends. It was 4 AM when we started on it and with our inhibitions gone, a magic surfaced that allowed us to just flow. When I began to write it out, I wanted to embrace my own chaos, my shadows. Then Smino slid into it effortlessly and that’s just what this song is, effortless. He’s one of my favorite artists because he’s authentically him and you can’t pin him down to any box.”

Ashnikko – You Make Me Sick

After making her grand debut two years ago with her mixtape DEMIDEVIL, the genre-bending music talent star Ashnikko is back with their new single ‘You Make Me Sick!’ Like her previous tracks, the young talent showcases high energy and unabashed honesty throughout the release. Written alongside their long-time collaborators Slinger and Oscar Scheller, Ashnikko sings about getting revenge on an ex-lover. Speaking on the track, Ashnikko states: “I’ve decided to come back with my angriest, most cathartic song to date. My own personal rage room for me to smash my plates.”
