It’s that time of week again and we have a brand new Spindle Selects Playlist for you that’s filled with some incredible singles from Taylor Swift, Rema, Ashnikko and more. See below for some of the tracks featured in our weekly roundup.
Tiko and Jayden – Catch a Vibe
The third full-length from YouTube creator Tiko, Introduction (out now), further explores the creative artistry of the man behind the mic, Jayden. Throughout the album, fans are treated to a multi-layered pop experience that includes fun signature Tiko-styled songs as well as a new style of songs from Jayden where he lets his original vocals shine while incorporating elements of pop, funk, and hip hop in a way he hasn’t yet before.
Making a formal introduction, Jayden has released his first ever IRL music video for guitar-led track “Catch A Vibe” which is about living life to its fullest and embracing the roller coaster ride that we’re on. If this is any indication of what Jayden has in stores for listeners with his new music, we can’t wait to see what comes next!
GXTP – Lust & Purity
Rock group GXTP have slowly released singles over the last year that place a spotlight on their experimental sound with a sprinkle of comedic flair – as seen in some of their previous music videos like “Contraband” which featured not only the iconic Tommy Lee, but actual toilet paper guns and even goats. Yes, really.
Now, the band has released a collection of these heavy hitting anthemic songs as their debut album, Smoke & Mirrors, which is out today. The album features new single “Lust & Purity” which encourages listeners to embrace both the light and dark within themselves and truly just let loose. With their first project in the books, they’re surely on track to become “the greatest f*cking rock band of all time.”
Harry Marshall – Las Vegas
Rising artist Harry Marshall will share new single ‘Las Vegas’, the next track taken from his forthcoming EP, Falling into that Life, due to be released 24th November. ‘Las Vegas’ sees Marshall further dive into sultry synth-pop territory, truly cementing a signature sound. Jangly guitar riffs and a hook-driven chorus are set to make this a live favourite, the artist’s trademark tonality pairing perfectly with the sonic groove. ‘Las Vegas’ was created with long-term collaborator Chad Schlosser (Fleetwood Mac, Cage The Elephant, 5 Seconds of Summer, The Kooks).
Of the track, Marshall said: “It’s a fictitious song about romance that goes above everything else. The love you have for that person will trump all laws and the toxicity of that relationship will perpetuate whatever scenario you find yourself in. It pays homage to romanticism and the idea of the aesthetic bands of 2012; The Neighbourhood, early-The 1975 and the movies that inspired some of their songs like one of my favourite movies ever, True Romance.”
Esmae – Undone
Esmae has released her first single since 2021, ‘Undone’, an emotional earworm about the push and pull of a relationship – when two people are so intertwined, you never truly feel undone.
The Driver Era – Rumors
Alt-pop band The Driver Era release their brand new single ‘Rumors’. The single release comes after lead singer Ross Lynch appeared in Troye Sivan’s viral video for his new single ‘One of Your Girls’ – where they started some rumours of their own…
The video has already racked up over 4M YouTube views in four days and has seen huge coverage across global media including British Vogue, Rolling Stone, Out, Dazed, Entertainment Weekly, Hypebeast, Harper’s Bazaar, Wonderland Magazine and lots more. Ross comments on the new single’ “Rumors these Rumors, no one really knows…The internet doesn’t always have the facts. We wrote a song about it and I hope you like it.”
Bryn Christopher – High
Bryn Christopher is ready for his next chapter. After building a reputation as British pop’s secret weapon by writing hits for Sigala, Louis Tomlinson and Melanie C, among others, the Birmingham-born vocal powerhouse is now stepping firmly into the spotlight. When he sings “this energy is taking me high, high, higher than I’ve been in my life” on his euphoric new single ‘High’, which was out last week , it’s a welcome reminder of Bryn’s gift for soulful and uplifting dance music. “I love singing live and I want to perform for audiences more often because it’s what I’m meant to do,” Bryn says. “I mean, I can’t keep just singing karaoke for my partner’s mates!”.
yuné pinku – Killing Bee
yunè pinku’s new single ‘Killing Bee’ is a must-listen for electronic music fans. Filled with yuné’s deadpan vocal and immersive beat, the dynamic new track will have you dancing all night long.
