Luke Hemmings – Benny
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Luke Hemmings has released his highly-anticipated new EP, boy. Made up of 7-track tracks, including focus single ‘Benny,’ the record showcases the 5sos frontman in a more mature and raw light. Speaking on the aforementioned track, Luke revealed: “The song is about guilt. I spend a lot of time away from my family and live in a different country than them. As you get older and life moves on, things happen at home and it’s the guilt of not being there and missing moments. It’s hard to miss the good moments, but even harder to miss the bad moments. You can’t be there to fix it all and be there for the ones you love.”
Normani – 1:59
Singer-songwriter Normani has dropped her new single “1:59,” featuring Gunna and we can’t get enough. Taken from her highly anticipated debut album DOPAMINE. Backed by smooth guitar melodies and pulsating R&B production, Normani sings about her partner and the romantic possibilities that await them.
Baely – Pluto
South London singer-songwriter BAELY has returned with his new single, “Pluto.” The track is the perfect mixture of the lo-fi and R&B genres. Speaking on the track, BAELY said: “I’ve always been fascinated with outer space and the unknown in general. When writing ‘Pluto’, I was crazy obsessed with a sci-fi TV series about space-travel, human behaviour, and that kind of stuff. One day I had the instrumental of ‘Pluto’ playing, while the TV series was on in the background and felt this strong synergy between the audio and the visual, and the lyrics just started to flow!”
Joel Stewart – Bare Knuckles
Joel Stewart – a rising UK singer-songwriter, has continued his upward trajectory with his new single ‘Bare Knuckles’, which is set to appear in his forthcoming EP The Fountain. Filled with an energetic and synthy sound, Joel delivers heartwarming lyris that will leave music listeners floating through the clouds. Speaking on the track, the talented artist said: “‘Bare Knuckles’ is the 2nd single from my upcoming 2024 EP The Fountain. I can be pretty erratic and I wrote this song in a time when I was feeling incredibly stressed about the path ahead. It was a very cathartic process, and being the first song I wrote for this project, became the start of that next chapter I was looking for. I owe a lot to this song. It helped get me out of a bit of a hole. I recorded it down at Spiritual Studios in Camden, with my good pal Jack Trouble. I hope there is a perfect blend of beauty and chaos, to reflect the lyrics about love, life, and relationships.”
