Swedish born singer, songwriter JAZMYNE has arrived with her debut single ‘Yum Yum’, and is ready to show the world what she is made of. Delivering a mixture of sass, raw emotion and unforgettable vocals, ‘Yum Yum’ prepares the ground for what is set to be an exciting journey in the industry for this newcomer. We spoke to the brand new artist all about her fierce debut…

Hi JAZMYNE, we’re thrilled to be chatting with you! How does it feel to finally have your debut single ‘YUM YUM’ out in the world?

Hi, thank you so much for having me! Releasing ‘Yum Yum’ feels like my rebirth! It’s like I have finally taken my first breath and I’m ready to show the world who I am.

How would you describe your sound to our readers?

My sound very much reflects my personality. It’s bubbly, vibrant, alluring, but layered, each track has its own unique style and introduces my audience to a different side of me.

What’s the meaning behind ‘YUM YUM’?

The meaning behind ‘Yum Yum’ is life has endless possibilities if you allow yourself to take a bite out of it.  I have been held back by insecurities, fears and doubts but once I overcame them life became sweet and I hope that it inspires others to do the same.

Are there any challenges you’ve faced in the industry so far?

The industry is full of ups and downs especially as an independent artist, I’ve had my fair share of challenges with finding good and trustworthy representation, financing my first projects and navigating the music industry in general. 

You moved from Sweden to London, to work on your music. How has that impacted your sound?

I feel like London has given me a new perspective on life and how things work. The journey has had a big impact on my songwriting and all will be revealed in my coming tracks. 

What 3 artists have influenced you the most?

The artists that inspired me to do music from a young age were Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato. The first concert I went to was Britney Spears’ Circus tour, and to this day it’s the best concert I’ve attended.

Do you have any live shows coming up?

I’ve been focused on releasing my first single but now that it’s out I’ll definitely be performing at live shows soon, updates will be on my website www.Jazmyne.io and socials.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 

In five years I see myself falling off the stage at Glastonbury thinking omg am I really headlining Glastonbury.

And finally, can you reveal anything about your upcoming music?

My next single ‘Psycho’ will be released on the 31st of October. I think this song will be an anthem for those that have been through toxic relationships, gaslighting or had a crazy ex.
