Meet The Outspoken Emerging Pop Artist… emi

Brimming with ambition and talent, emerging artist emi is ready to make her creative mark on the world. Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, now based in Warsaw, Poland, the young artist first fell in love with the music world at the age of 8, following her first singing lesson. Music became a significant component of emi’s life from that day forward. As she got older, the talented songstress transformed from a casual music listener to a full-blown artist – which resulted in her honing her craft and expanding her skills to include directing and dancing.

After exploring her songwriting abilities in 2020, emi finally made her official debut in 2023 with the track ‘Project 1’ With a unique sound and etheral vocals, the emerging singer has continued to peel back the layers of her artistry with follow-up singles, including ‘Metamorphosis’ and ‘One of Them.’ With 2025 in full swing, we were able to chat with emi about her music journey, her creative inspirations and what she has in store for fans in the new year. Hey Emi! Thanks for sitting down with SPINDLE. Can you believe we’re in 2025?

Honestly, it feels surreal! 2024 flew by really fast, and I’ve been so focused on creating that I barely noticed the months passing. I’m excited to see what 2025 will bring; it feels like a fresh chapter is about to unfold.

Looking back at 2024, what were some of your favourite moments of the year?

2024 was such a transformative year for me. One of my favorite moments was seeing how people connected with my music, especially with my single “Metamorphosis” — it felt like a new chapter in my artistic identity. I also spent a lot of time in the studio experimenting with my sound, collaborating with other creatives and working a lot on new music projects. Those moments of growth and discovery definitely stand out.

Congratulations on the release of your single ‘One Of Them.’ It’s fantastic. Can you take us through the creative process for the track?

Thank you so much! One Of Them came from a place of self-reflection and observation. I wanted to create a song that feels like a journey, something that mirrors the chaotic, sometimes overwhelming energy of modern life. The process started with the beat, which immediately set the tone for the track. From there, I layered the vocals and focused on crafting lyrics that felt immersive and thought-provoking. It was all about capturing a mood and telling a story that feels real and relatable.

The song’s production has a futuristic and electronic vibe. What drew you to this dynamic sound, and how do you think it elevates the immersive lyrics in ‘One Of Them?’

I’ve always been drawn to electronic sounds because they allow so much room for experimentation. The futuristic production feels like a reflection of the world we live in — fast-paced, unpredictable, and constantly evolving. It complements the lyrics perfectly by creating a soundscape that feels immersive and a bit surreal, which is exactly what I wanted to achieve with One Of Them.

Your latest release comes a few months after you dropped ‘Metamorphosis.’ How would you describe this music era?

I would say this era is all about transformation and discovery. Metamorphosis was a turning point for me — it symbolized shedding old layers and stepping into a more authentic version of myself. With each release, I’m exploring new sides of my creativity and pushing myself to be bolder in my sound. It feels like I’m constantly evolving, both as a person and as an artist.

Let’s take it back a bit and explore your musical beginnings. When did you realize that you wanted to create music?

I’ve been drawn to music for as long as I can remember. I started taking singing classes when I was around 8, and it quickly became my favorite way to express myself. I always knew music was something I loved deeply, but it wasn’t until 2020 that I started writing my own songs and realizing that I wanted to create my own world through music. That’s when everything shifted for me.

You grew up in a culturally rich household. When looking back on your childhood, what artists or albums were staples in your home?

Growing up, there was always a mix of music in my household. I heard everything from classic Ukrainian music to 90s Hip Hop rap. There was always music playing in our home, and the sound has always been different.

You’ve released some dynamic singles over the last two years. Can we expect an EP or an album in the near future? If so, what can music listeners expect from an Emi project?

I’ve been working on a lot of new music the past year. My goal is to create a cohesive project that takes listeners on a journey — something personal, raw, and experimental. It will reflect the different sides of my sound, blending electronic, R&B, and pop elements. I want it to feel like stepping into my world. So, in 2025, you will hear a lot of singles and some great collaborations with other artists and producers from me that will bring you into my perspective of everything around.

Bringing it back to the new year, what are the five goals you want to achieve in 2025?

My top 5 goals in 2025 are:

1. Create projects that will outdone my last year’s work.

2. Collaborate with more artists and producers to keep expanding my sound.

3. Create more visuals for my music.

4. To perform my first solo concert

5. Continue growing as an artist by experimenting with new sounds and genres.

Lastly, with the music experience you gained over the last couple of years in mind, what advice would you give to your younger self?

I’d tell my younger self to trust the process and be patient. Everything comes in its own time, and there’s no need to rush. I’d also remind myself that it’s better to concentrate on one specific sphere and to stop spreading your energy on every idea that comes in your head. Most importantly, I’d say to stay true to yourself and your vision, because that authenticity is what makes you special.
