CRAY – Butterflies

On Valentine’s Day CRAY, dropped her latest single “Butterflies” – an alt-pop bop about being so smitten with someone you just want to squeeze them until they burst. The accompanying video is the perfect visual to capture CRAY’s quirky personality and the songs playful tone. The LA-based singer, gamer, DJ, will be joining NOTD on their European tour this March – dates here.

BEXEY – STATE OF EMERGENCY

‘STATE OF EMERGENCY’ closes out BEXEY’s newest work, an EP entitled ‘BLOOD, MAGIC, & DIAMONDS’. The London-based rapper put out the project on Valentine’s Day, making it his first release of 2020. ‘STATE OF EMERGENCY’ is an in-your-face track that closes out the EP on a strong note.

John K x Sigala – if we never met

John K’s new collaboration with Sigala is the third iteration of ‘if we never met’ that the American singer has released, including a version with Kelsea Ballerini. This remix breathes new life into the track, transforming it from a mellow love song into a drum-led single that makes you feel like summer is coming early.

SVEA and Merk & Kremont – Numb

SVEA’s newest single is a pop masterpiece. The song is a flawless collaboration between SVEA, and Milan-based producers Merk & Kremont. The verse by Ernia rounds out the song as a bilingual hit with an infectious hook to boot.

The Weeknd – After Hours

After the release of his previous two singles – ‘Blinding Lights’ and ‘Heartless’, – The Weeknd is back with another introspective and heartfelt track. The record touches on a futuristic sound with its production. Singing about a lost love and the desire to rekindle with an old flame, The Weeknd expertly evolves his classic style in a new direction.

Feng Suave – Toking, Dozing

Feng Suave’s first single in two years is a gorgeous, laid back track about trying to cope with the knowledge of the state of the world. The easy-going acoustic feel is perfect to top all of your feel-good playlists, and shows plenty of promise for their upcoming tour.

Kaash Paige – Heartbreaker

Kaash Paige released a music video this week for her song ‘Heartbreaker’, the starting track off her 2019 album ‘Parked Car Convos’. The video is a cleverly edited mishmash of home-video style shots, party scenes, and special effects reminiscent of the drawings in a high school yearbook. It’s a perfectly clever video to compliment Kaash Paige’s slow, chilled R&B sound on the song.

5 Seconds Of Summer – Old Me

5 Seconds Of Summer are wasting no time in 2020 with the release of their new track ‘Old Me’. The track is a mix of pop, R&B, and dash of rock with Luke singing his heart out about changing and adapting in life. Speaking on the record, Luke states, “Old me carries a youthful spirit and follows the narrative of a young person’s life growing up, for better or for worse. Every decision we made, whether right or wrong, has led us to the men we are proud to be today.”

Jax Jones, Martin Solveig and RAYE – Tequila 

Jax Jones and Martin Solveig are collaborating once again on their project, Europa, with a high-energy dance hit. With vocals masterfully supplied by London-based RAYE, this track is bringing in summer early. 

Sneakbo ft. Kida Kudz – Love Is A Gamble

Slowing it down with their new track ‘Love Is A Gamble‘, Sneakabo and Kida Kudz prove that they are a force to be reckoned with in the Grime and Afrobeat scene. The record not only has fire bars from Sneakabo and Kida, but they are also joined by some soulful backing vocals – giving the song an R&B twist.

Gerry Cinnamon – When Were Going

Gerry Cinnamon’s first release of 2020 promises for a big year for the independent artist. The feel-good acoustic track is a great love song for carrying out your Valentine’s spirit through the rest of the month. The single also came with the announcement of a new album from the singer-songwriter entitled “The Bonny,’ which is due to be released in April.

Grimes – You’ll miss me when I’m not around

Grimes has made a triumphant return with her brand new album Miss Anthropocene and second single ‘You’ll miss me when I’m not around’. The record is a mystical mix of genres and sounds that continues to give Grimes her edge.

The 1975 – The Birthday Party

The 1975 are already off to a stellar year with their tour, noteworthy stances on gender equality at music festivals, and awards–including being named NME’s band of the decade. Now, the band shows no signs of stopping with the introspective single ‘The Birthday Party’ and accompanying music video, an uncanny animation of the band undergoing a “digital detox.” With an album on the way in April, the 1975’s hot streak shows no signs of stopping.

Aitch – Mice 

Aitch’s first solo material of the year is already a strong start of what’s to come. The Manchester native’s freestyle underneath a unique flute-featuring beat showcases his undeniable skill as a rapper. The track, with its accompanying music video, hints at a promising year for Aitch, who has already teased an upcoming collaboration with Aj Tracey on Twitter. 

The Strokes – Bad Decisions

The Strokes new single ‘Bad Decisions’ will have you wanting to make a few with that special someone. The new track is an absolute joy to listen to if you’re looking for a chill and fun record. ‘Bad Decisions’ is perfect for your Cozy Sunday plans.

Emily Burns – Hello

‘Hello’ combines a slightly moody beat with Emily Burns’s effortlessly powerful vocals to create a beautifully building pop song. The track is an anthem for anyone who’s been caught in a difficult on-and-off relationship. The single comes ahead from a handful of performance dates already scheduled for April and May.

Call Me Loop – Downhill From Here

‘Downhill From Here’ is a song about love and all it’s complexities. Call Me Loop brings a dance-pop production to the forefront with catchy lyrics that will be stuck in your head all weekend long. We have to stan this emerging relatable pop queen.

Talk Show – Stress

Talk Show and the up-and-coming rock band you need to be paying attention to. Their new single ‘Stress’ is dark, driven, and bound to raise excitement over their debut EP, due out on March 27.

JP Cooper – Bits and Pieces

JP Cooper has a habit of creating music that touches the soul, and his new track ‘Bits and Pieces’ perfectly reflects this talent. From its cinematic sound and JP’s insane vocals, ‘Bits and Pieces’ is a must-listen.

DJ Fresh – Drive

DJ Fresh’s new track is fast, exciting, and a stellar dive into 2020 for the English musician. The single has been a long time coming, according to the DJ’s Twitter, in which he stated he was “in hospital having radiation treatment when I started writing this” and that “it’s about the feeling of breaking free and being alive.” DJ Fresh certainly shows no signs of stopping now, as he’s been hinting at collaborations with the artist Buunshin and stating he’ll be putting out “bangers” this year on his social media as well.

Sports Team – Here’s The Thing

Sports Team is giving us punk and rock & roll with their new single ‘Here’s The Thing’. The rising group from Cambridge has been setting the music world by storm with hit singles like ‘M5′ and ‘Fishing‘ and Here’s the Thing helps continue this trend with it’s upbeat sound and lyrics

GRACEY – Gone

Emerging pop star gets personal on her new track ‘Gone’. The new track deals with a relationship that has ended and the “remnants” of her partner lurking around. If you’ve recently broke up with someone and need a relatable track than GRACEY’s new single is for you.

Allie X – Sarah Come Home

After a brief hiatus, Allie X has made her return with her new album Cape God. Featuring her previously released singles ‘Love Me Wrong’ and ‘Devil I Know’ the new album is an eclectic mix of bangers and ballads that are true to Allie X style and sound. A standout on the record is her track ‘Sarah Come Home’ an upbeat record that will have you envisioning the lyrical story the songstress lays out.

Thundercat – Dragonball Durag

Funky, soulful, and clever are three ways to describe Thundercat’s new track. The song is essentially about his durag and swag, but it will instantly have you grooving and moving. We can always count on Thundercat to release some A+ material that blends and mixes the different eras of R&B and soul.

Big Tobz ft. Geko – Stepped In

All we can say after listening to Big Tobz and Geko’s latest track is FIRE. With a unique production and swag filled bars from both MC’s ‘Stepped In’ is a record that will be a staple on any going out playlists.

Jamie Hannah – Secret Paradise

Jamie Hannah’s new track ‘Secret Paradise‘ is a pop song for all the lovers. Delivering powerful vocals that beautifully showcases his impressive range, Jamie is securing his place as one to watch. The lyrical content and futuristic production makes ‘Secret Paradise’ a must for your personal playlist. 

Casey Lowry – Psycho

Casey Lowry is back with another banger of a single ‘Psycho’. The new track is a love song through and through with a clever and cheeky twist. Discussing the record, Lowry states “Not too long ago my friend had a house party that got completely out of control and (long story short) ended up setting her house on fire. She’s still adamant that I was the cause of it and always calls me a “psycho boy” every time I see her…so I wrote a song about it” The upbeat sound and lyrics will be stuck in our heads for days to come.
