Introducing The Emerging Pop Songstress Maddi Jean

Maddi Jean is ready to make her mark in the music world with the release of her debut track ‘young in love’. The 21-year-old British songstress first got her start in the industry as a model. While making her way up the ladder in the fashion world, Maddi soon began to focus on her first love – music – and has steadily worked on her craft and sound. With her inspirations ranging between Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift, and King Princess, the emerging talent has created a unique electro-pop sound. With her new single making the rounds and her debut EP set for a September release, Maddi Jean is gearing up to tell her music story, one song at a time. 

We were able to chat with the songstress about everything from her sound, her debut track ‘young in love’ and so much more…

You first got your start in the modelling world. When did you realize you wanted to pursue music?

I always dreamt of pursuing music but felt like it was something out of reach having not studied it professionally. Then I saw loads of artists who were making music independently and out of their bedrooms, so I got inspired and decided to make a couple of covers and put them onto Soundcloud, and it started from there! You never know if you don’t try

How would you describe your sound?

Lighthearted and a little bit weird

What has been the most exciting aspect of writing and recording music?

Hearing the first bounce and how the song has come to life is so exciting to me. Then I get really excited thinking about all the visuals for the song

Who is your favourite artist to listen to at the moment?

Hmm very difficult to answer! but recently been loving King Princess, The Internet and Doja Cat

Your debut single ‘Young In Love’ exudes such carefree vibe, what was the creative process for this record?

We made it at a time where I was feeling a lot of intense emotions for the first time in my life, so it came pretty naturally. It’s carefree but it’s meaning is charged with confusion and being overwhelmed AF

Will you be releasing more tracks soon? An EP or album?

An EP is on the way 🙂

What are your top five goals you would like to achieve as an artist this year?

I just hope that there will be people who enjoy listening and relate to the lyrics. Also, it would be pretty awesome to be put on a Spotify.
