Meet The Multi-Talented Artist…Petit Biscuit

With an innovative sound and vibrant vocals, Petit Biscuit has secured himself as one of the most respected artists in the music sphere. 

The classically trained artist first made his unforgettable splash in the industry at the age of 15, releasing his self-released hit ‘Sunset Lover’. Since that fateful day, the multi-instrumentalist has garnered 1 billion streams on Spotify and performed at some of music’s biggest events like Coachella and Lollapalooza. 

Fast forward to 2020 and Petit has found himself navigating a COVID ran world. After splitting his time between Iceland and Los Angles, Petit Biscuit has finally made his return to the music with his brand new album ‘Parachute’. When it came to the creative process for the new record, Petit dove headfirst into his inner thoughts, laying all of his emotions on the line. 

We were able to chat with Petit Biscuit about ‘Parachute,’ his creative process and so much more. Read the full interview below. 

Hey Petit! Thanks for sitting down with us today. How are you? 

I’m fine thanks! Just released ‘Parachute’, my new album. I’ve got some nice feedback from my fans… nice. 

How has this year been for you? 

Very weird, I mean, same for everyone. I finished ‘Parachute’ while I was isolated in my bedroom. I started ‘Parachute’ in 2019 isolated in Iceland so the contrast is real haha. 

Okay, let’s get to the music, you just dropped your fantastic album ‘Parachute’! Can you take us through the creative process for this record? 

I’ve been making Parachute in two extremely different destinations: Iceland and the US. It all started in 2019, I needed to take a real break from touring and from everything. Iceland was the best way to feel alone, in the middle of nowhere. And then, the US! In Los Angeles, it was a very different vibe. I have a lot of friends over there. I wanted to have some good experiences and at the same time stay focused on the creative process. 

What type of themes or meanings did you want to touch on with this album? 

I just wanted to share some personal experiences as ‘Parachute’ is, or my vision, how I see war, love, death. It’s a long introspection into my own self. 

How does Parachute differ from your debut album, Presence? 

I feel like I embody ‘Parachute’ way more than I did for ‘Presence’.

We’ve talked about your work, but let’s dive into you. Since your debut what three lessons or words of wisdom do you still cherish and follow to this day? 

1: Be patient. Things take time. 

2: Try to understand the person you face, don’t judge too fast. 

3: Don’t live in the past. Getting goals for your future is the thing that makes you move forward.  

Now we know you’ve released some impressive visual lyric videos. Will we be getting full-fledged music video soon for any tracks off the record? 

We’re planning more visual content around the album release. I think it’s even more original than a music video only. Coming soon…

Ending 2020 with a bang, what can plans do you have for 2021? 

Making more music. Improve myself and go on tour again (praying)!!
