From her lead single, ‘MONEY BAG’ to her follow up release ‘Satisfy My Soul’ this project is a must-listen for anyone going through their own journey of self-love. We were able to talk to Ria about everything from her “ah-ha” musical moment, creating her debut EP Fluid, her upcoming music plans and so much more. Read the full interview below.
Heya Ria! How are you doing?
I am doing perfectly fine, enjoying these new experiences and living each day with a purpose.
The last year and a half has been a rollercoaster for many. How has 2021 been treating you?
It has been a rollercoaster for me too to be honest but I am grateful is more good than sad. I got signed this year, released two singles and now a 6 track EP within 6months. It takes dedication and hard work and I am proud of myself and the team.
Let’s dive into the music shall we? Looking back to your childhood, which artists or genres did you gravitate to the most?
To name a few, Brandy, Whitney Houston, Chris Brown, Bruno Mars. Brandy mostly because I love the soul in her music and the way she expresses it, it’s magical. Then again I am still young and growing so I am listening to sounds that are really shaping me musically.

Did you always have aspirations to pursue a career in the industry? Do you remember your “ah-ha” music moment?
Never really thought about it as a career when I started singing you know, I knew I could sing and every time I find myself doing it happens naturally. And then I found myself in a studio and I recorded my first song “ and from that moment I was sure it was me and music on this journey.
We’ve got to talk about your incredible sound! It honestly feels like such an escape listening to a Ria Sean track. How would you personally describe your sound?
Aww, thanks for the compliment. There is a lot of soul in my sound, it is actually the essence of my music, it doesn’t matter what genre I am trying to delve into there is always the soul delivery in it. Infusing this soul with Afro beats and Afro-fusion beats has allowed me to create this wonderful Ria Sean sound that you all love.
Congratulations on dropping your EP Fluid! The cover and tracks on the project are spectacular. Can you take us through the creative process of the record?
It was all so surreal you know, one thing I have always needed was a team and through this process, I experienced firsthand what it means to have a good team. The idea of my EP, the feel and the concept is something I have carried for a while, waiting for the opportunity and when I told the team they all tapped into it and it was seamless creating. And that process inspired the title of the EP “fluid.”

What themes or messages do you want fans to take away from the EP?
There is beauty in everything; it’s left for you to decide how you want to see it. I want the fans to be able to feel confident in their reality. It doesn’t have to look like the movies that were shown to us, your reality matters too. Being able to express desires and not be judged by them.
Will you be releasing any more visuals for the project? We’re still living for your latest video for ‘MONEY BAG’.
Yes yes yes, more visuals, videos, social media content, the whole 9 yards.
Since your debut in 2019, how have you grown as an artist? Is there any advice or lessons that have positively affected your journey so far?
Considerable well, I mean I am still growing and experiencing things on a daily basis, but my advice will be to have people that are fighting for what you want, and don’t let anybody tell you what you should be.
Now I know this is just the beginning for Ria Sean, but can you give fans a sneak peek at what they can expect in the coming months?
Expect more from your girl, I do this for the love of music and the love I have for all of you guys supporting me, so expect the best I can give all the time. Expect new trends, visuals and more music to satisfy your soul
