Spindle Radar: VICTORIA Kicks Off Her New Music Era With Heartfelt New Single Pity Party

VICTORIA has ushered in a new music era with her immersive new track, ‘Pity Party.’ The Bulgarian singer and songwriter first made waves with music listeners in 2015 when she appeared on the fourth season of X Factor Bulgaria. After her incredible run on the series, VICTORIA’s star continued to rise after she was announced as the 2020 Bulgarian representative for the Eurovision Song Contest.

While her entry song ‘Tears Getting Sober’ was the favourite to win the contest, VICTORIA’s Eurovision journey was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, she didn’t let the roadblock stop her from pursuing music. In 2021, VICTORIA released her debut EP called ‘a little dramatic’, a blend of ballads, dark pop, and experimental songs, garnering over 15 million streams and earning her a spot on Forbes Bulgaria’s 30 Under 30 list. 

Over the last few years, VICTORIA has continued to push the boundaries with her music, exploring darker themes and taking a more alternative pop-sonic direction. Now, in 2025, the ‘sad girl winter (again)’ singer is back with a stunning new look and a bevvy of new music – like her heartwrenching new single ‘Pity Party’ – that will showcase new layers of her dynamic and emotive artistry. We chatted with VICTORIA about everything from her latest track, ‘Pity Party,’ to her musical influences and so much more.

As a Bulgarian artist, do you feel like your hometown has influenced your sound or
your musical journey?

Bulgaria definitely played a significant role in my musical journey, but my sound is more
influenced by the world. Since I was 11, I’ve always felt that I belong somewhere else—
not necessarily where I was born and raised. I love Bulgaria so much and always will, but
my dreams are much bigger than that. I’ll be the happiest if I can share all my experiences and emotions through music with as many people as possible.

Where are you currently based? And do you have any plans to tour in 2025?

I’m currently based in Sofia, Bulgaria, but I travel almost every month to London or
Stockholm to write new songs, meet my team, and connect with new people in the
industry. I’d love to have more concerts around Europe in 2025, and I’m also planning to
release my first album, which is really exciting.

You performed at your headline show in December at Notting Hill Arts Club in
London. What was the crowd like, and how was that experience?

That was probably one of my favorite concerts I’ve ever had. I went through some health
issues right before the concert and was so afraid that we might have to cancel it, but I told
myself there’s no way because I’d been looking forward to it so much. In the end, it went
amazingly. The audience was laughing with me, singing along, and was so open and
warm, which made me incredibly happy. I can’t wait to have more experiences like that.

Your upcoming single ‘Pity Party’ is a beautiful, introspective track. Can you tell us a bit about the meaning of this song?

I met my new team a year ago in Stockholm, and ‘Pity Party’ was the second song we
wrote together. When you meet the right people at the right time, magic happens so
quickly, and everything flows naturally. I opened up to them with all my emotions and
wanted to create a song that many people could relate to.

It’s about your dark inner world—the inner critic that keeps telling you you’re both too
much and not enough at the same time. It’s also about how harshly we treat ourselves
without even noticing because we’re so caught up in negative thoughts that they start to
feel normal. I think it’s essential to explore yourself—your roots, traumas, and bad
habits—so you can analyze them, learn from your mistakes, and turn them into growth.
It’s a tough journey filled with ups and downs, but it’s worth learning how to be aware of
your feelings and not let them control you.

How long did it take you to write ‘Pity Party,’ and was there anything that sparked
inspiration for it?

We wrote ‘Pity Party’ in just a few hours. I got so excited about it that I recorded almost all
the vocals the day after the session. I finished it this summer when I was back in
Stockholm, and I’m glad we let it sit for a while. When I heard it again months later, new
ideas came to me, and we made it even more emotional than before.

How did it feel to earn a spot on Forbes Bulgaria’s 30 Under 30 list?

I felt so honored to be on Forbes Bulgaria’s “30 Under 30.” That was a big moment for me
because I felt recognized, and it meant that my work was seen and understood. Being
featured in Forbes gives you the validation that you’re on the right path in your journey.

How do you feel your sound has evolved over time?

I’ve been experimenting with my sound for quite a while because I felt lost—both as a
person and as an artist. But now, I really believe I’ve found my true sound, which feels
more organic. I fell in love with the guitar. One thing I’ve always kept in my sound is the
harmonies. My favorite thing is layering harmonies over and over to create a choir-like
e^ect. It brings me so much joy.

You also have a really cool aesthetic. What inspires you when it comes to fashion?
And how would you describe your style?

I’m constantly keeping an eye on global trends, but I can’t say I’m inspired by one
particular person. It’s more about the overall picture I create in my head. I aim to inspire
the people who follow me and enjoy my art. So, in a nutshell, I’m my own muse, and I
create my own style along with the professionals around me.

And finally, any spoilers you can give for your music plans in 2025?

I’m currently working on my album, and I’m both terrified and excited to share it with the
world because it’s so honest and means so much to me. I’ll keep working constantly on
my art and myself, wishing for 2025 to be filled with positivity and beautiful moments,
both in work and in my personal life.
